I haven't really done the whole blog thing for a long time so I want to catch up a little bit....We went to Tropic reservoir while ago with our friends the Pead's. It was a nice little getaway, short and sweet. I am not a fan of camping with a little one just because we ruined her sleeping schedule on this trip. But Avree loved eating rocks and dirt and just being dirty.

Our next camping trip was with my family to Moab. My sissy Heather and her family are Jeepers so they hooked us up. We almost passed on the trip since Jeremy had just had his surgery and wasn't feeling too amazing, so we brought the lazy boy so he could relax in comfort. Again, not great sleeping with Avree again, especially since we slept in the back of our truck this time, bad bad idea. bad.

Avree is so content rocking with her dad. Look at the chubbyness. sooo squishy:)

Here are 2 of the 3 Jeeps we had there, my brother in law Skip has the white beast and his buddy Jason has the red one. Its crazy to drive up to a ledge and just roll on up like it's nothing. ohh fun.

We haven't been up to our usual summer partying :( hopefully Jeremy will heal fast, at his dr appointment he said 5 more weeks til he would be good to go, but I hope its faster. I am crossing my fingers.

The traditional day at the lake on the 4th of July. It was fun to be able to wakeboard again, I hadn't boarded since before I was pregnant. Avree liked the boat, not so much the life jacket.

This year I planted a garden, I am hooked. I love being able to run out to the garden and grab fresh veggies for dinner. Avree is so helpful at picking tomatoes, they are one of her favorite things to eat, she will eat everything but the skin. I am constantly finding skins all over the kitchen floor. (just found out today that tomatoes are not good for the little ones though. oops. no more for her)
Avree also likes to help me water the garden.

Avree is growing way too fast, she learn new things all the time.
She's been crawling for almost 2 months now, my house has never looked the same since. She claps, smacks her lips, clicks her tongues, gives the best slobber kisses-and raspberry kisses. She pulls up on everything and walks along the couches and walls and will go anywhere with no problem. I am just waiting for her to start walking any day now-as long as it's not while I'm at work, but at least Jeremy will be there if she did. She dances, sings and jibber jabbers. She says dad, mom and ball, hello, bye...I'm pretty sure she knows what they mean too. If I say Hi Grandma, she will turn to Grandma and wave and she will go find her ball when you ask her where it is. Of course I think my child is brilliant :) We finally got her to sleep through the night. She has the cutest crinkled nose smile. She still only has her 2 bottom teeth. She dropped from the 97% to the 91% in weight. wowsa skinny little thing!

The CRF on a happier day

Mr unbreakable is broken. I guess its only a matter of time before he would get hurt since his middle name is Danger.
So here's the story.... On June 4th Jeremy went to the motocross track with some buddies, I was on my way to a birthday party when Jeremy called me and told me he broke his arm, bad. He over jumped a jump by about 20 feet going about 40 mph and wasn't able to miss the burm on the corner which kicked his back tire and made him fly over his handle bars. He said he was seeing stars. My initial reaction was, um, freaking out-we don't have insurance and I was seeing $$$- horrible, I know. I did ask him if he was ok before I started freaking out though :) So my parents came and took Avree and I took Jeremy to the ER since I knew they wouldn't be able to do much at instacare. Jeremy's fingers were starting to get tingly and starting to hurt more and more, by the time we got to the ER his fingers were numb. Oh ER, I don't like you. 2 hours of "hmm" and "ok, I'll be right back" (liars) I was constantly looking for another nurse to get Jeremy more pain pills because he was in so much pain and morphine wasn't touching his pain, it just kept getting worse and worse. He was given 3 doses of morphine then finally 2 doses of dilaudid and a muscle relaxer, then he could finally relax a little, but he was in lala land after that. On one of my many ventures out in the hall to find someone, I saw his Dr and asked for some water. That's when he told me that Jeremy couldn't have any water or food because he may need surgery and he showed me some xrays (that I couldn't see through my tears) This whole time, nobody would tell us anything, it was so frustrating. They called in an orthopedic surgeon to look at him, he came and poked Jeremy's hand with a pin, which Jeremy couldn't feel. Then left the room. I asked a nurse if he was going to have surgery and she said yes and that they were bumping patients to get him in right away. Jeremy broke his 4th metacarpal, ulna and scaphoid and his wrist was also dislocated which was pinching his medial nerve- which was causing the numbness. The surgery was 2 hours long, he got a plate in his metacarpal with 6 screws and a big screw in his scaphoid, the Dr moved one tendon and stitched 2 others where they dislocated. That was a long day. Im so grateful that we have both our families in town, they were so helpful with Avree.

Jeremy made me put this picture up, it's his favorite-sorry if you're squeamish. This is when we were getting the 16 staples and 6 stitches (in his palm) out. It's been 5 weeks today and he is still pretty sore although he tries to be tough. His hand gets really swollen and if he overdoes it he pays for it. The Dr said he will be out of work (and diaper duty) for 2-3 months, so we are hoping that it won’t be that long. This whole thing has been pretty hard but I know things could be so much worse.

I FINALLY figured how to tether my phone to my computer so we can get the internet at our house. Yay! We have been busy and little bees lately. We just moved a few weeks ago and have been getting settled. I even planted a veggie garden at our new place. We will see if anything grows since I tend to murder all my plants. Im crossing my fingers. My sweet Grandpa Persson passed away about 2 weeks ago. Im so grateful that we have taken a few extra opportunities to visit my grandparents up north and introduce them to little Avree bug. Jeremy and I got a babysitter and finnaly enjoyed some snowboarding. Its crazy how having a baby makes playing a little bit harder.

Who'da thought that prunes would be her favorite food. She was going crazy, I couldn't feed her fast enough.

Jeremy got some sweet '90 stand up jet skiis so he wanted to take them out to make sure they ran, 1 of them did...not too bad. Avree had so much fun playing in the water and trying to eat some sand. I cant wait for summer and all the lake trips!

Today we busted out of the house in between confrences and went hiking in Snow Canyon. Since we were outside-of course Avree loved it even though the wind was intense.

I wanted to get a cute picture with the flowers in our front yard, but Avree was being a mamas girl and got mad when I sat her down.

I feel like Avree is growing too dang fast! It doesnt help that she is a Laidlaw baby which puts her in the top percentile for weight and height. She is learning a lot and is so much fun. She has been sitting up all by her self since the end of January and she doesnt even cry when she face plants it. She's been rolling since January as well.
My favorite time is when she wakes up in the morning, she is so smiley and happy. A few nights ago we heard her in her crib kicking the matress and talking to herself for about 30 minutes. She has recently started reaching for Jeremy and I, I almost cried the first time. Love it.
She loves to watch people, dogs and unfortunately tv. She still likes walks and runs in the jogging stroller. She kicks kicks kicks all day long. Yesterday she weighed 19 pounds. I can't believe our big girl will be 6 months next week!!!

I decided I want to try to be an adveturous mom, so I made homemade baby food for Avree bug. This little girl has to see whats going on, she is such a busy body. Im afraid for when she learns how to cause some real trouble- I think she is going to be like her daddy...pray for me :)

Here is the finished product. yum yum yumminess. I really hope I can stay motivated and puree all her baby food for awhile. She has such a sensitive stomach so I hope keeping things basic will help her until she's a little older.

Needless to say we will be investing in some swimming diapers for this summer. We had a little swim suit for her, but her delicious thighs were too scrumptious for the leg holes.

She has also learned how to drink out of my camel back bottle. so we invested in some sippy cups which she likes- but she isnt quite sucessful at drinking out of them with out taking a bath.

Its crazy that 5 months ago this is what we were doing, driving home with our little munchkin for the first time. It feels like she was just born but it feels like we've had her around forever. Time goes by so fast. These pictures are completly out of order but I dont feel like taking time to fix it :)

When she was 1st born people would always notice her long fingers and say she is going to be a piano player. I found this keyboard at a yard sale for $1. Shes pretty good and making all kinds of noise but she likes to try to eat the keys too...

She always grabs the washcloth from me during her baths. She will suck out the water then redip it in the water and suck on it over and over.

We went to our first Jazz game. I was so worried about all the noise and her little ears. we had little ear plugs then cotton balls and her head band to keep the noise out. She couldn't take her eyes off the game. she loved all the noise and action. She stayed up way past her bed time

I love watching her learn new things. She has been rolling around for a month or so, she is trying to move around but she kind of just pivots around. She sits up on her own pretty good now. she can sit for a few minutes before she tips over. She loves playing with her link toys, but her favorite things are our cell phones and remotes. She was on a really good sleeping schedule, then she got sick... nowwe have no sleep schedule and we are trying to fix that--ahhh. I NEED help with that one- advice?? She loves to talk and blow raspberries. She continues to out grow her clothes before she can even wear them out. Part of me wishes she would stay little, but the other part is so excited to watch her grow up and discover everything and learn how her little body works.

Life is awesome. We love having little Avree in our lives. Everything revolves around her now, we love it. She has been getting better and better as far as her acid reflux goes, thank goodness! She is getting a fun little personality. She will be 4 months on the 12th and I cant believe how fast time flies!!!! I just switched to part time so i get to spend more time with the little munchkin! We have an apointment with a child dentist on wednesday to find out if Avree needs surgery in her mouth. It makes me sick to think that she might need surgery, hopefully it turns out to be minor. I'll update when we find out

Avree loved going on the 4wheelerShe is a little happy girl, she has been smiling big for a while now but she has started laughing recently. I could listen to her laugh all day long. I love it :)

Her hair is always out of control, it just keeps growing and she hasnt lost very much of it. She has blonde eyelashes and eye brows like me, so we'll see what happens with that...

About a Bug

Our little (not so little anymore) Avree Bug turned 2 months old on the 12th! Time is flying by and she gets bigger by the day. She is getting a fun little personality and she can keep Jeremy and I entertained for hours.

*She is finally getting to where she doesnt need to eat every 2 hours *sigh of relief*

*Sleeps awesome at night, she is begining to sleep 10 hours and wake up once, I hope im not jinxing myself. (she used to wake up every 2 hours too so one a night is a great improvement

*She loves her baths, she gets so crazy that there is water all over when we are done.

*We have conversations all the time, she has found her cute little voice is good for something besides screaming :D

*She is about 14 pounds now!!! wowza.

*Size 2 diapers.

*Size 3-6 months, though some 0-3 still fit her too.

This was my first time leaving Avree. It felt so weird to not have her with me but it was a nice break (is that bad to say that :P) She was in good hands at grandmas. Any way it was a perfect day at the dunes. I'm glad I remembered how to ride since I haven't gone riding in 8 months or so. 4 Weeks

I can't believe little Avree bug is already 4 weeks old now! On Tuesday she will be a month old. Its fun to see her grow out of all her clothes that she only wears once, but its sad that she is growing up so fast. She is almost 11 pounds now- this girl doesn't miss a meal. I can't believe our little Avree is already 1 week old today! She is so sweet and so fun, we love her to bits.

Here is how she got here.

My due date was Sept 11. That day I was having braxton hicks contractions ALL day and in the evening they were 5 minutes apart so I was thinking we were going to be going to the hospital that day, but I decided to lay down and get some rest, and just like that the contractions all but stopped. On Sunday morning at about 10 AM I started to get REAL contractions. Holy cow! We went to dinner at the Laidlaws and I felt like I was ready to die so we went home and I showered and got ready to go to the hospital. We got to the hospital at 3 pm and I was dialated to a 5, so they checked us in and we kinda hung out for awhile. My nurse was awesome, told her that I wanted to TRY to see how long I could go without an epidural. She helped me breath through the contractions which helped. By the time I decided I was ready for an epidural the nurse said I was an 8 and Dr Benham was on his way to break my water and Avree was ready to get here. 45 minutes later Avree made her debut at 6:55! It was the hardest few hours of my life!!!

8 pounds 1 oz. She was bigger than everyone thought

Jeremy's cousin Brittany was Avree's nurse and my friend Melissa was the tech. We had lots of good people taking care of us. The nurse, Melinda even stayed late for her shift to help me, her kids kept calling her. She was so sweet

Avree is so much chunkier.

Avree is starting to figure out what night is, I think I am pretty spoiled. She is a pretty good sleeper and eater. She even gained weight her first week, which is uncommon for babies. She weighed in at 8 lbs 5 oz on Friday at her 1st drs apointment which is the 70th percentile. I can just sit and watch her make silly little faces all day long. She even smiles-right before or after a good toot :) She can scream like a banshee when she is hungry. We just can't believe that she is ours forever!

This weekend we went up to Salt Lake City and Park City- my sisterAshley helped us win a gift package to Park City and a chance to win a 16 day trip to Kenya for a safari, We needed to be at the Hogle zoo on saturday for the giveaway so we made a weekend out of it. The getaway package we won had the hotel stay, dinner, olympic park ride tickets and a summer lift pass. we love free stuff!

Here is our hotel, when we had our room service come to our room it was a girl I went to high school with-small world. We had such a nice relaxing weekend, we needed to take advatage of it since we can count the remaining CALM weekends we have on one hand :)

On Sunday we went to the olympic park. I was "highly advised" not to ride any of the rides but it was still a lot of fun

The olympic skiers were practicing jumping into the pool, it was pretty cool. This guy was from Australia and bustin out the douple back flips like it was nothing.

Last weekend was the balloon festival in Panguitch and the Laidlaws went up to enjoy the cool weather. Jeremy and Nate took their bikes up for saturday, I didn't go because it was my friends baby shower. My sister in law Brittany is an awesome photographer and she took some pics of the boys riding. I have no idea how to resize them without making them fuzzy-so look closely :)

We got our camp on this weekend at Lake Mead with the Johnsons, Callisters and N8 and Alisha. The weather wasnt perfect but it was still fun to chill with everyone. I have to admit its a total bummer not wakeboarding... next year i will be back at at though. I'm looking forward to the rest of the summer and many more lake trips

Semi-Annual Blog Update :)

Time is cruising by, I'm already 20 week! halfway there. Its still pretty crazy to think about the little one that will be here in a few months but her little wiggles and kicks make it seem a little more real. I can't wait till she gets a little stronger so Jeremy can feel the little soccer player. I've had such an easy pregnancy so far, I hope it stays that way. Jeremy couldnt be more excited-I love that he's so excited. He already painted the babies room and recarpeted it...before we even knew what it was.

We went to Dumont the other week with Nate and our buddies Kason and Julie and their 2 little boys Griffin and Nolan and a few others. It was a perfect weekend, nice weather, not too many people and no injuries or accidents-which is pretty amazing :) Sadly my camera battery died about 10 minutes after I started taking pictures so I missed all of Jeremys huge jumps- He was doing a huge 90 foot jump that seriously made me feel sick. This morning we went over to my sister Ashleys house while the girlies were opening their presents. The girls got new bikes and Jeremy and Peyton had so much fun riding around and around the house. Peyters would go so fast around the corners she would usualy run into the wall.

My new favorite thing about saturdays are yard sales! I know... i'm a loser :) but we got some fun things today at yard sales. Jeremy's mom bought us this little patio set for our back yard. We've been working on our back yard a lot now we have some where to sit! Thanks Sherry!!!!

Cedar Mountain camping trip

Over Labor day weekend we went campin up by Brianhead. We borrowed Jeremy's boss' toy hauler so we didn't have to sleep in out toy hauler with Jeremy's whole family. Jeremy's dad is the king of snoring, it's unbelevable how loud he is, and his watch beeps every hour for some crazy reason. So Jeremy and I had a huge trailer all to ourselves. It was so nice. The first night it rained all night and the skylight over the bed dripped all over Jeremy, but i slept like a baby:) The view over Yankee Meadows

Last weekend we went to Lagoon and the hogle zoo with my whole family. We had tons of fun!!! my nieces and nephews are so cute and crazy.

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell with Jeremy's family over the 24th of July. I'm such a slacker at taking pictures anywhere we go so I stole these pics off my in-laws camera. One morning we all woke up super early from baby Jack crying so we jumped in the boat and went wakeboarding. We got the best butter water, so nice and smooth.

Manti Camping Trip

We went camping up in Manti canyon this weekend. Thursday morning before we got totally dirty we drove down to the Manti Temple. The young kids did baptisms and Jeremy baptised them. Then us adults... I guess we're in the adult category... went to a session. If you have never done a live session-only the Manti and Salt Lake temples have them now- I recommend it. the little old temple workers are so dang cute.

Manti is such a pretty temple. My parents were married here.

We had a ton of fun just relaxing on the mountain. We had perfect weather-sunny and cool. it only started to rain for a few minutes when we were loading up to leave. We ate some yummy rainbow trout for dinner one night that the boys caught in the lake. We got to try out the new but old toy hauler. thank goodness for tylenol PM cuz Jim is such a loud snorer.

This is the best time of the year- trip time! We have been busy playing so here's a few highlights of what we've been up to....

We just got back from Cedar mountain last night from a weekend of camping on Yankee Meadow with Jeremy's boss Dan, his wife Julie and their 3 little crazy but awesome boys.

On the way off the mountain Saturday night at about 9:30 we heard a weird knocking noise, we thought it was a flat tire on the toy hauler trailer so we jumped out and looked but they looked fine. We went another two feet and we heard a loud knock and got out again, a rear tire on the truck was completly off the axle, all the lug nuts were gone and only 4 of the 8 lug bolts we're left, the other 4 were sheared off and 2 of the ones that were still on were bent really bad. Thanks to the guy who got stuck behind us one the one lane windy mountain road who helped us. We rigged up the tire and headed on our way going 25 MPH. BLAH. Jeremy's brother met us in cedar so he could tow the toy hauler home and his buddy had a big flat bad trailer that he drove up and we put the truck on the trailer because we didn't want to risk anything...

This is the trailer we were towing that had our 4wheeler and motorcycle in it. So we decided that we were very blessed that the tire didn't come off all the way... or come off when we we're driving next to a cliff on the way down... or on the freeway going 75. So far a really bad situation it went really well as far as bad situations go. THANKS NATE AND BRADY for helping!!!

We also went camping on the Henry Mountains near the Bullfrog marina with Tyler and Nicole Johnson. That was some good wet fun!

This is the coolest gas station ever near Caineville, you have to walk through a tunnel to get to the bathroom

Jeremy had never been through monument valley so we took the scenic drive home

Jeremy and I ditched work today and went snowboarding. It was a perfect day- warm, sunny and a foot of fresh power. We're not as hardcore as we used to be, but it's still fun.

Jeremy's boss has a cabin in east Zion and he let us stay there durring Christmas. It was awesome. There was about 4 feet of snow.

Zions Ride

Jeremy went on a ride with his family on Saturday in Zions. The day started out good... The Crew

On the way back Jeremy hit this slippery, mossy log on his motorcycle. He laid his bike over in the water. The engine sucked in water and seized the motor.

They had to strap the front tire on the back of the four wheeler to tow it all the way back to the truck

Jeremy got the water out of the motor when he got back home and his bike is running again... so far so good
